Readers who enjoy GWG fiction might like my short story collection, The Smoking Gun Sisterhood (which Jim and Chris were kind enough to review on their excellent site, http://www.girlswithguns.org ). Some of the heroines of these stories are on the right side of the law, and some of them aren't; but they're all honorable ladies in their own way --and deadly ladies, when they need to be. It's for sale at http://www.lulu.com for $11.70 plus shipping, or for $5.00 as a download. Check it out, if you're interested!

Since I posted the message above, I'm delighted to announce that my short story collection The Smoking Gun Sisterhood has been picked up by a real publisher, Trestle Press. For now, the self-published print edition is still on sale at lulu.com, as indicated above, since the Trestle Press print edition won't be out for a while yet. But they're publishing the e-version as a series of separate e-stories. If anyone's interested, the first one, "Biker Angel," is now available on Amazon's Kindle for 99 cents! The second one, "Cops and Robbers," will be coming soon.

Congratulations! Obviously, self-publishing is one thing, but having the collection picked up by a "real" publisher is further independent testament to the quality of the work. Not that this should be needed if you've seen our review. Just remember us when you're all rich and famous! :-)

Thanks, Jim! (Reviews like yours sure make a writer feel good!)

Since my last post, I'm sorry to report that my story collection, The Smoking Gun Sisterhood, is no longer for sale on Lulu. They made some changes to their format for author's "storefronts" that I couldn't live with, so I had to withdraw the book. However, the Trestle Press edition will hopefully be out soon! Meanwhile, six of the the ten stories are now for sale for 99 cents each as e-stories, on Kindle, Nook, Smashwords and all similar venues!

As of yesterday, Trestle Press is no longer publishing any of my work (long story), so the six stories previously published as stand-alone e-stories are presumably no longer available through Amazon or other online venues. But I'll be exploring other avenues for getting The Smoking Gun Sisterhood back into print, both as a paperback and as an e-book (and hopefully this time as a whole book!), and will post here once I have something to report!

Just as a quick update, The Smoking Gun Sisterhood has now been accepted for publication by Pro Se Productions, a small press based in Bentonville, Arkansas (no connection to Wal-Mart, though!) that specializes in pulp fiction. (I've known about this since last weekend, and I'm still excited!) It should be available for purchase in both paperback and e-book formats sometime around mid-2013, and I'll post more details here then.

If anyone wonders whether he/she would like my style of writing, you can read a brand new story, "A Robber's Jackpot," that I recently posted on my Goodreads page, for free at this link: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/320496-a-robber-s-jackpot . It's shorter than the ones in The Smoking Gun Sisterhood collection; but the subject matter, style and tone are very similar, so if you like the story, there's a good chance you'll like the book. (You don't have to be a Goodreads member to read it there, though you do have to be a member to officially "like" it.)

Oops! The location of Pro Se Productions in my post above should have been given as Batesville, not Bentonville. (Don't know how I misread that --sorry, my bad!)
