Now this sounds interesting Russ........ about time we had a soldier girl movie.

I hope it's quite gritty rather than PG13..........when I mean gritty I don't just mean bloody or gory, but I mean hard edged.........for example if one of the soldier girls gets wounded in the gut, then she should react like she has been gut shot, not shake it off as if nothing has happened.
I also mean by hard edged that these soldier girls in this UN team are not bullet proof and that their enemies are competent at hitting whatever they are shooting at......I've lost count of how many movies both Hollywood and Indie where despite thousands of bullets being fired the heros/heroines escape getting hit, and yet as soon as the hero open fire everyone they fire at drops down dead.

Cheers.

We're committed to hard-R for this movie, that's really how we're pitching it.

Interesting points about the amazing ability of heroes to hit and baddies to miss. It's a tough conundrum to be honest, because, if you play it 100% realistic, then if someone gets shot or stabbed, they're fucked. I mean really fucked - which means screaming, rolling around and being "out of action" for the remainder of the movie.

Also - you're crossing over from action to drama if you do it that way. Kinda like "Saving Private Ryan" vs "Rambo", I guess.

But this is a really good point, something that I've not considered before, so I'll have another look at the script for that sort of thing.

Fingers crossed, we'll get the money to make it *lol*

Cheers

Hi Russ,
I realise its a bit of a conundrum with any of the heroines getting wounded, but they need not necessarily be "fucked" for the rest of the movie, they might still be able to wield a weapon or hold a gun..... or perhaps they could get wounded nearer the end of the movie so you don't have to spend too much time on drama.
It's just that too many movies make their heros/heroines bullet proof, and therefore greatly diminish any real sense of danger or tension in the movie.

Anyway I really hope you get your funds to make this one.......the very best of luck!

Solid point - I'll discuss with the director - I had some stuff like that in, then it went out, then back in, then out... you know how it goes.

Thanks man, I hope we get the money too, I'll keep GWG up to date on developments as they happen.
