ARIZONA ROLLER DERBY
Arizona's First Skater Owned & Operated Roller Derby League!
We have a lot of new information for you this month, kids! We're ready to announce our Season Two Schedule and we're preparing now for our exciting SEASON OPENER GAME! We're also announcing our newest teams and player rosters so you can start your fantasy roller derby teams now. And to help you in that endeavor, we're totally revamping our website – actually, recreating is a better word. Our new website is scheduled to be online in September and will include team pages & player biographies with lots of photos and stats, so you can start getting to know your girls online as well as you know them in person.
TEAMS
Our fall roster includes FIVE active teams, including your favorites from last season and new teams headed up by familiar faces and girls that you'll soon know and love. Look for more new girls in training now who'll be ready to play by September, as well. Our last season champs, the BRUISERS gave up a couple of their "anchors" (so to speak) to form the new pirate team, the SURLY GURLIES, headed up by the Bruisers old co-captain, BAM BAM. The Bruisers wish their girls luck but that won't stop them from sending the Surlies back to their ship with a few extra scars! And the Surlies are already looking to take home the best "booty" of all: the Season Two Championship trophy. It's never too early to plan! We've also added a brand new team, the BAD NEWS BEATERS. The Beaters will be debuting in our season opener against the Bruisers. Look for them to really kick ass! And your old favorites, the SMASH SQUAD have narrowed down their roster to the really mean girls and are ready to show all the new chicks how it's done. Here are the current rosters:

The girls have also formed a fifth, all-star traveling team that includes the toughest broads from each of the active teams and a few of the most promising new chicks, as well. Your traveling team is scheduled to play their first (and THE first ever!) inter-state league competition against the TEXAS ROLLERGIRLS in early Novembe (see the calendar below for details). We've scheduled a home game and an away game, so don't miss out! Our lineup for the traveling team includes the following girls:

These girls are training hard because they really have their work cut out for them with the Texas gals. They are known for being big, mean and tricky and your traveling team isn't taking anything for granted. We will be geared up and ready to try to teach those veterans a thing or two!
UPCOMING GAMES
Our second season is shaping up to be a real kicker. We've added a new WEST SIDE venue to our calendar, and we'll be doing more games more often in both our locations throughout the season, and recruiting as many of those wicked West side chicks as we can!

JOIN US
We're always looking for a few good skaters! Our only requirements are that you must be over 18 and you must have health insurance. We invite anyone from any skill level to come practice with us. We'll teach you how to skate and when you're ready, we still have a few open spots and plans for several more new teams. If you're interested in joining Arizona Roller Derby, please email join@azrollerderby.com, or just show up! We practice several nights a week. Interested girls are invited to watch or participate:
